A total of 48 children are currently residing at the House. Staff meetings were conducted regularly. Yamuna who is been working with us has also joined as a teacher at Shanti Niketan School.
Fire drill was conducted on 22nd of the month. The tiny tots directed by the staff followed systematically. Some of the new children were explained the importance of the drill.
All the children except Michael and Sanjay are enjoying themselves at school, learning new things. During leisure children enjoy watching cartoons and playing indoor games as they cannot move out due to the monsoons.
Surekha & Yamuna attended the In-charge’s meeting held at Shanti Niketan. After the meeting, training was conducted for the In-charges which focussed on Effective communication, the training was conducted by Siddhi, the HR Executive.

Uttam Kumar from Porvorim celebrated his daughter, Samaira’s First birthday. He gave a birthday party for all the children at the House. Various snacks and eatables were distributed for the children. All the children later sang a birthday song for Samaira. A number of games were also arranged for the children and the birthday girl had a great time with all of them.A newly admitted child, Monali (739) celebrated her birthday at the House. Her grandmother came to visit her and distributed cake for all children on the occasion and spent some time with her grand child.
De-worming tablets were given for all the children. Children who were suffering from fever were under treatment. Glory came for a regular health check up and inspected around 23 children. Some children received tetanus vaccination for the vaccination camp held at the Shanti Niketan School.
A Government official came in order to inspect the House for proper maintenance of the House and the records maintained of the children.
Other official visitors included, Siddhi who came on an official visit and examined the overall running of the House. Godfrey also visited to check the maintenance of the House.
