Monsoon showers did not stop the children from playing outdoor games. It is always a sight to watch the children enjoying the rains. We had to take precaution as well as part of the school roof was thrown open and water entered the building. A few more new students were enrolled this month. Staff was given new attractive badges for this year. We also have our local sarpanch’s daughter Miss Diksha being given tutorial classes by our teacher.
New Staff: Ms Carmelina Mascarenhas is newly appointed to oversee the tailoring department. Mrs Flora Pinho is our new assistant in Nursery class. Ms Yamuna has been appointed in place of Miss Sheena Monteiro. To get the library section rolling we have appointed Mrs Jaimini Kavlekar.

Students Council: The Installation Ceremony of the Students Leadership Squad was held this month. The leaders were presented with the badges, administered the leadership pledge and also given duties and responsibilities. Master Sanju Haibathi and Miss Sunanda Gonpatre is the head boy and head girl respectively. The other elected representatives are as follows: Assistant head boy Mr Aditya Kamble, Assistant head girl Miss Haseena Kadambari. House captains: Jupiter House (Ashok Lamani for boys & Jyoti Chawan for girls); Mars House (Ramesh Rathod for boys & Minakshi Ganekar for girls); Saturn House (Ashok Dodamani for boys & Pooja Desai for girls); Neptune House (Rohan Menezes for boys & Poornima Pujari for girls)
Vaccination Programme: On 6th July the school in collaboration with the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Siolim conducted vaccination programme for the students. 4 new children aged 5years were given the Diphtheria Tetanus vaccination whereas 87 children above 10years were injected the Tetanus vaccination. 12 girls received the Reubella vaccine. Teachers and some office staff also received the Tetanus vaccine.
Volunteers: Ms Nina Mehta and Sonam Bhourlay from U.K. volunteered this month in the Nursery class. They enjoyed their time in the school.
Sports: Mr Laxman conducted table tennis coaching classes for interested students from 4:00 -5:45pm. Mr Madwalkar is conducting physical education for all the classes. Chess is also being introduced to the interested children.
GK Quiz: On 7th July classes had GK quiz competition. The competition was house wise in the respective classes. Jupiter was the winning house with 131 points followed by Neptune house with 113 points. Mars and Saturn were placed 3rd and 4th with 111 points and 93 points respectively.
Extra Curricular Activities: Artist Deviprasad had a talk with 5 interested 
students and imbibed in them the benefits of learning and teaching. He will be meeting them regularly every week to train them up as assistant art teachers. He will be started a art workshop in September in our school. Master Raju Venkatesh has been attending classes in tailoring and also learning repairs of machines. He is being trained as a gents tailor and also to handle the maintenance of the tailoring machines. The tailoring & embroidery activities have begun in full swing from 1st of July with 21 students divided into two batches.
