An average of 134 children attended the Shelter in the month of July. Educational help & regular tuitions for the formal and non-formal children were provided. Two new children have been benefiting from our night care Shelter during the month, they have been admitted in a Government School. Two new staff joined us this month, Reshma Ajgaonkar assisted us with the non-formal education and tuitions for the children while Vijesh worked with us as a trainee In-charge for a week.

Children’s Birthdays were celebrated at the Shelter during the month.
Mock fire drill was conducted at the shelter. All the children and staff participated in the drill. The importance of a fire drill was explained to the children.

Children at our day care needing medical attention were taken to the Urban Health Centre, Margao. The Urban Health Centre also provided a stock of medicine to be utilised for the children at the Shelter and Slum. Medical help and first aid was also provided to the needy people at our slum school at KTC Bus stand. A medical camp was also organised for the slum children together with the help of Urban Health Centre. Blood check-up was held especially for children to detect if they are suffering from malaria.
 

Our energetic team of Fieldworkers visited different slum areas and interacted with the children & parents. They also conducted networking among schools in order to spread awareness on the works of El Shaddai and reach out to more needy children.
A new slum school has been started at Khareband and another one near the KTC Bus stand near the construction site. Children availed basic necessities like food, clothes, non-formal education, medication etc. regularly.
Our field workers also visited Ashadeep Shelter and assisted with the Shelter activities and field work at regular intervals.  
 

We are thankful to our Volunteer & Teacher, Dilshad Meghani who regularly helped and assisted our children at the Shelter in their studies.
The members of Rangavishkar from Margao visited and organised a small programme & distributed stationary & sweets to the children. They assured to help us in future as well.
