Around 60 children are residing at the House and are being looked after. During the month some of the boys have been moved to Shekinah House while some of the boys from Kathleen House have been moved to Victory House.
Children have been preparing for their first mid term examination during the month.Mock Fire drill was conducted on 22nd of the month. All the boys and the staff participated in the drill. The importance of a drill was explained to the boys.
Two new staff joined us this month. Vijesh assisted us for few days and was moved to Stepping Stones for further training, he was later moved to Ashadeep as an Incharge. Appras, who has also joined us this month, assisted us at the Home as well as visited the Shelter and helped in field work.
A cultural programme was organised for the children and different games like bombing the city were played. The six teams of the boys participated enthusiastically and each of them presented a unique performance.
The In-charge’s meeting was attended at Shanti Niketan. After the meeting, a training was conducted for the In-charges which focussed on Effective communication, the training was conducted by Siddhi, the HR Executive.
Some children were treated for minor illnesses at home while few were taken for treatment at Asilo Hospital. They were under necessary medication and treatment until they were back to good health. Some Children were also treated for fungal infection. Glory came to examine these children and also imparted health education and tips on hygiene. She also gave some of them medicines and antibiotic syrup. Sick children were kept on special diet in order to regain their immunity system and recuperate faster.
