Every day El Shaddai realizes there is more to be done. This led us to identify places where we could implement a social change and increase the standard of living. We are unable
to touch the lives of these people without the support of our generous sponsors. We take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors who have donated towards our bore well project. The bore wells we have sunk so far have been able to provide fresh water for poor people. Recently two bore wells have been sunk in Repativalasa and Dokiseela in Andhra Pradesh, India and we are happy to share this news with our well wishers to encourage them to support us in touching more lives in remote villages.
The twin villages of Dokiseela and Repativalasa is located in Parvatipuram taluka,
Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. These are tribal villages. The inhabitants are daily wage labourers and live in abject poverty. Their main source of income comes from working in the fields. They get some resources like wood from the nearby jungles. Their annual family income is less than Rs. 70,000/- Many a times they go hungry. There is lack of educational facilities due to which the literacy rate is only 21%. Being in tribal belt, they live in the midst of wild animals. The annual rainfall in this region is 13 cms. But ground water is readily available if a bore well is dug. Their main constraint is finances. Your bore well will provide these people a living and help improve their lives.
The bore well in Repativalasa is sponsored by Anne MacGibbon and Friends of the Walled Garden Caravan Park. The bore well in Dokiseela has been donated by the Wonford Methodist Church, inaugurated in March 2011. The villagers are very thankful as they now have access to fresh water.

Recently they have asked the Geological department to conduct a survey and found that ground water is available from a depth of 70-80 feet. So, that is good news.
A rough estimate to dig a single borewell is approximately Rs. 65,000/- to 80,000/-
Thus we plan to dig two borewells, one in Dokiseela and the other in Repativalasa village.
The village of Telwe is located near Kolhapur. It has a population of around 3600. Houses belonging to the Mahar caste (untouchables) are found in this village. They are very backward and deprived of the basic facilities. They are exploited by the upper caste and have no access to the village drinking water. They depend on the river for water which is 3 kms away from their homes.
This borewell is sunk in the midst of this community. It was sunk to the depth of 330 feet and about one and half inch of water was found. Mr. Amir and Dilshad along with their friend inaugurated this well on 10th March 2011.
A Big Thank you to Mr. Amir, Dilshad and their friends in UK for your kind & generous donation in supporting these people and giving them a chance at Life.
