Tremara Community Centre (August Update)

Heavy rainfall was witnessed during the month of August. There were many cases of viral flu among our children. Thus the attendance on some days was as low as 70 children. The Kindergarten classes were held as usual during the mornings. On rolls we have 100 children. The children relish the mid-morning meals provided to them at the centre. Due to the demand, we have an additional 30 children on rolls that come in the afternoons. Regular tuition classes were provided in the afternoons for 1st standard children who regularly attended.

• Apna Ghar was visited at regular intervals.
• Discussion with the Principal of law College regarding the awareness sessions along with the Legal Aid cell.
• Meeting with the Principal of Polytechnic College regarding admission for Diploma course for a boy who visited SCAN-India.
Little Acrons (August Update)

An average of 50 children attended the Shelter per day this week. Our field workers conducted field work in the slum area on a regular basis. Shankar visited the Homes of some of the slum children attending the Shelter and conversed with their family members.
Lavino attended the Shelter In-charge meeting held at Scan India.
Kathleen House (August Update)

Due to heavy monsoons Children have been mostly involved in playing indoor games after returning from School. Children enjoyed watching Cartoon movies at regular intervals. A new child named Karan was welcomed into the House this month.
Shekinah House (August Update)

The boys had a set of fun filled activities that was planned and conducted at Shekinah House for the month of August.
Victory House (August Update)

The House sheltered 58 children, three staff and four trainees during the month.
Leader’s meeting was held in the Cottage whereby various issues like leadership skills and responsibilities were discussed with the children. As the children were very influenced by the topic on leadership, they were provided with information on how they could become a good leader.
Johnny and Francis attended the In-charge meeting held at Rainbow House.
Fire Mock drill was conducted and all the children and staff participated in the drill.
Stepping Stones (August Update)

An average of 133 children visited the Shelter per day during the month. A regular field work, non-formal education and tuition classes were provided for the children. Field workers organised games and other activities. Children were also assisted in their studies. About seven children availed the night care shelter facilities.
Rainbow House (August Update)

This month few staff were interchanged. A previously working staff named Laxmi joined us back this month and assisting us at the House. Regular Staff meetings were conducted at the House and various issues were resolved.
The In-charge meeting was held at Rainbow House. Glory and Sunitha along with other House In-charges attended the meeting on 12th of the month. They discussed various issues related to the smooth running of their respective Homes. Thereafter a training was also held for all the In-charges.
