Take Action

Walk On Wild Side

Max Chandra is one of a kind. A UK National of Indian origin, he gave up his cushy job as a Managing Director in a corporate company and travelled to Goa to start a Gym in Palolem. Soon he started the ‘One Step At A Time Charitable Foundation’ to support Children's Education, environment and various other causes.

Gift A Cow

Every day El Shaddai realizes there is more to be done. This led us to identify places where we could implement a social change and increase the standard of living.

On 10th March 2011, 8 Jersey cows were distributed to families who live below poverty line. They were distributed in the neighbouring villages of Kolhapur. The Jersey cows are yet to give birth then they will yield plenty of fresh milk and provide a good source of income for their Families.

May Mela 2011

Thank you for wanting to be involved in our first annual nationwide meal to raise money to feed the street kids in India. A ‘Mela’ is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘gathering’ and is often associated with a festival or celebration. We have chosen ‘mela’ because we are going to gather together for a meal to celebrate and enable the work of El Shaddai, particularly, the feeding of street kids.

Walk of Hope

We regret to announce that the Walk of Hope 2011 stands cancelled due to lack of walkers and sponsors.

Walk of Hope 2011

This year’s Walk of Hope is from Exeter Cathedral to Gloucester Cathdral, from August 26th to September 4th.

Donate

Any amount you give, big or small, will help us achieve our goals faster. To learn more about our projects, please see the Projects section on this website.

STEP 1: Select your Country

Leave a Legacy

You could help us make a difference in the lives of under privileged children and put honest, innocent smiles on their faces.

According to the laws in the UK, if your estate is worth more than £275,000, the Chancellor will take 40% of any money over that sum, in Inheritance tax, but gifts to charity are exempt from Inheritance Tax. So if you leave us £1,000 in your will, the Chancellor will pay £400 of that. If you would like to leave a some part of your estate as a legacy after your death please contact our UK office.

Volunteer

We are currently recruiting ‘Volunteers’ who are able to dedicate 4 weeks or more to El Shaddai.

Please be aware that regardless of your qualifications you will need to complete an application form from our website, send us a Police Check to work with children from other countries. Often these checks take several weeks. Once received by James our volunteer coordinator (james@childrescue.net) you will be informed if your application has been successful and she will communicate with you and answer any questions.

Fundraising

Friends and well-wishers of El Shaddai have been an integral part of our effort to raise awareness and funding for projects with street children in India. From school going children, touched by their less privileged counter-parts across the sea to senior citizens wanting to continue making a difference to society in their advancing years, we have had our friends help us raise awareness and funds in several unique ways in their home towns, schools and workplaces across the world.
