VISITORS: Mrs. Patrick and Michelle Cousins from England visited us and donated Rs 7000 towards our need list for a washing machine.

SPONSORS: Mrs. Victoria Banks sponsors of Raja Basergi ID-676 and Mrs. Pekka Lento from Finland visited our home and gave some clothes and study material. Mr. Dave Lonlley from England the sponsor of Chandu Rathod ID-621 visited and donated some Jerseys for the El Shaddai Cultural Sports Club. Mrs. Elizabeth Danielson from Sweden visited and donated some clothes towards our home.

Johnny the home coordinator organized a staff meeting regarding the child sponsorship policies. The Laurel cottage remains closed due to inconvenience of the renovation work. , but the work will be completed shortly. While the other new project “Laundry Machine” is also completing its way out. Everyone is happy here and very interested about the Laundry project coming up.The boys here were shifted to Shekinah house with the prior permission from the management. 

Most of the boys and few of the staff are still on their summer vacations and will be returning shortly. For those in the House, Mock Fire Drill was held; deep cleaning of the house was done in Shekinah house as well as in House of Kathleen. During the evening hours, the boys either play football or cricket to spend their time. Francis also entertains the boys by conducting competitions like the General Knowledge quiz, etc. This is something the boys enjoy very much.

The month of November brought Diwali and some of the boys visited their families and were back by the 14th to participate in the two rallies organized by El Shaddai. On 14th, coincidentally the Children’s Day, they took part in the Margao Rally and on 19th they took part in the Panaji Rally on Prevention of Child Abuse.

Shekinah House also established a Football (Soccer) club under the name of El Shaddai United Club. Boys are attending the coaching camp held at Shanti Niketan School under Nigerian Coach Mr. Valentine Eugene.

The boys had a set of fun filled activities that was planned and conducted at Shekinah House for the month of August.

Swanka attended the In-charge’s meeting held at Shanti Niketan. After the meeting, training was conducted for the In-charges which focussed on Effective communication, the training was conducted by Siddhi, the HR Executive. Shekar and Samay will be working with us as trainees.

The Shekinah House conducted the “Monsoon Softball Cricket Cup” at the Shekinah House grounds. Four teams participated and gave spirited performances. Team India won the tournament.

Last month saw Shekinah house abuzz with the boys returning from their vacations. We have admitted 6 new boys and we now have a healthy strength of 41 boys. It’s great to have them back. New uniforms & stationary has been distributed to all the boys.

During the month the staff and the children were busy preparing for the Christmas Season. They have also been waiting excitingly for the fast approaching New year, 2010.
