STEPPING STONES (03/02/12 - Weekly Report)

 

Our regular activities were done and around 723 children were treated in the slums as well as in the shelter. We helped many children in this week and many more new ones were given admission in our day care shelter. Our regular routine field work was done too in various different areas in and around Margao in search of children who need help. We received regular meals from ‘Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan’ for this week. All are slum schools were running well this week.

Stepping Stones monthly report (May 2011)

The month of May saw a gradual decline in the number of children attending the Shelter. Most of the children, along with their parents, have left Goa for their native villages. Field workers reported that some of the slums wore a deserted look during their visits.

Handicraft Exhibition- 2011 held at Stepping Stones.

El Shaddai Charitable Trust organised a Children’s Handicraft Exhibition through its Stepping Stones Shelter in Pajifond, Margao on 12th March 2011. The event was envisioned to showcase the abundant talents of the rescued children at our School & Shelters. Children from Ashadeep, Little Acorns, Stepping Stones and from Shanti Niketan School participated in the exhibition by making amazing handicraft items.

An average of 133 children visited the Shelter per day during the month. A regular field work, non-formal education and tuition classes were provided for the children. Field workers organised games and other activities. Children were also assisted in their studies. About seven children availed the night care shelter facilities.
