Cottages

in

Many of the children in our Homes have been with us for a long time and have grown into young adults. These children were picked up off the streets or were brought into our care when some of them were just toddlers and we have seen them go through school and now they are at colleges and training institutions or employment. They now live in cottages where they are learning to live independently while still under the care of El Shaddai. They do their own cooking and cleaning and even manage their own budget and shopping.

Victory House

in

Our first Home Victory House, originally in Vagator, was opened in December 1997. It was taken on a short term lease as there was no capital money available to buy Homes in those early days. We started with 15 children and today we have over 3000 in our care all over India.

We stayed and worked very hard with the children at this Home until in April 2000 we were, by the grace of God, and the generosity of our sponsors and well wishers, able to buy a new Victory House at Saligao.

Shekinah House

in

Shekinah House meaning God’s Glory, which is for boys aged 13-16 years who all attend school, was the first house bought by El Shaddai. The volunteers worked day and night cleaning and painting to make it clean, bright and cheerful. It was opened in April 1999 in Assagao, a quiet tree-lined village known for its abundance of flowers. The house provides love and warmth for the maturing boys and with the help of the dedicated staff they gain self confidence. They have a large playing area and recently some playground equipment was donated by sponsors.

House of Kathleen

in

In 2001, Ted Moreman  inspired by the words of Anita, when she was the guest speaker at a three day Christian Conference, undertook a sponsored walk from Bristol to Ilfracombe in Devon England and raised £25,000 to buy a fourth permanent Home for the under privileged children rescued by El Shaddai. After the subsequent sale of his book about his walk, funds rose to an amazing, £32,000.

Rainbow House

in

Rainbow House, our third Home in Assagao is situated next door to The House of Kathleen and just down the road from Shekinah House.

In 1999 Andreas Toscano, a farmer from Germany, while travelling through India heard about an English lady rescuing Street Children, so came to visit Shekinah House and met Anita. She introduced him to Matthew her co-founder and together they showed him around and talked about El Shaddai. He was very concerned about girls living on the streets and in the slums and wanted to help them.
