This is our ‘community project ‘reaching the children of women who are forced into commercial sexual exploitation. These are children who are the victims of the evil called’LATCH-KEY’prostitution.Girls in their early teens are forced into prostitution and kept locked with no access to the outside world. Later when they loose their beauty these girls are thrown onto the streets to fend for themselves and when unable to do so procure a loan from their previous owners. When they are unable to pay back the loan their children are in turn sold back to the owners as repayment, and the cycle goes on .These children no proper homes or shelter and they rarely get a chance at education. Very often these children themselves become victim’s o sexual and physical abuse. “We also want to read and write “is the cry that is going out of these young ones and so we are working on an educational programme to help them with basic education.

Thirty children have found a proper home at Chiraag Ghar, (House of Light) where they get the basic necessities of life and proper guidance. They have a shot at education and good hygiene. They have a chance at breaking a horrifying cycle and moulding a better future for themselves and their community as a whole. Some of the children of these women have been relocated to Goa where the influence of their society will not have an effect on their lives. This project was started in 2006 and it is holding great promise for the children.
