SCAN is an acronym for STOP CHILD ABUSE NOW. It is a new project of El Shaddai CharitableTrust.
 
SCAN-India consists of experienced personnel and experts from the field of law, social work and psychology, who work with children who have been abused mentally, physically and emotionally. 
 
Based on the modules of various child protection units existing worldwide, SCAN has developed its own module to provide sustainable, comprehensive services for children who are abused, children in need of care and protection and children in conflict with the law. SCAN aims at working in partnership with stakeholders at different levels such as the local community, State, National and International governments and non government agencies, under a nationwide, multi-agency, child protection system.
 
SCAN-India has developed a rapport with children in conflict with the law and their families. We support, rehabilitate and help them to gain the necessary skills and confidence for their future.
 
 SCAN works in pursuit of the realisation of the protection of children and their rights as envisaged under the Convention on Child Rights.  In order to achieve its goals and objectives SCAN comprises of three units:
 
ADVOCACY – working with the government to implement Child Rights
CAMPAIGNING – making people aware of child rights & juvenile justice                        
INTERVENTION – rescuing the child  and helping them to get justice
