Happy New Year. As I spoke to you before Christmas about visiting the children's home in Goa. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I spent with the children. I was so impressed with their courtesy and manners. I took stationary, pens, pencils, sharpners etc and some food as it was Christmas. To my surprise as I was about to give the gifts, the children made one single file without being told, neither did they push or get hyper. They all thanked myself and my family and asked me if they could sing some christmas carols.

The Chief Minister of Goa, Mr Digambar Kamat, inaugurated a new Maruti Van for Stepping Stones in Margao. The van was donated by Quality Foods, Margao to Stepping Stones, for the work of assisting and rehabilitating street children in Margao.

On 1st December we had Ben & Nasta from France with Ben displaying various gimmicks, monocycle tricks, rope acrobatics etc for the children to enjoy. This was a two hour performance followed by the Google team which interacted with the children and distributed free cycles to them.

During the month the staff and the children were busy preparing for the Christmas Season. They have also been waiting excitingly for the fast approaching New year, 2010.

Two new children Shilpa ID 706 and Ritesh ID 709 have been admitted in the Home. As the Children had Christmas holidays for about a week from school, they had a good time playing and preparing for the Christmas season.

As the girls had finished their exams, they were busy preparing for the Christmas Season and so also enjoying their Christmas holidays. The girls were eagerly waiting for the Christmas and the New Year. Some of them participated in the Christmas party held at Shanti Niketan School. The House was beautifully decorated by the Girls and staff making the House look very welcoming.

An average of 55 children visited our Shelter per day, this month. 3 new children have been admitted into the shelter. Non-formal and formal classes were held regularly.
